Miscreants killed a person named Lala Mia (65) with a sharp weapon in Lakhai upazila of Habiganj district. Last Thursday (January 26) this incident took place at Hillar Kandi village of Jirunda village of the upazila around 12 o’clock in the morning.

The deceased is the son of deceased Yusuf Ali of Jirunda village.

The relatives of the deceased reached the spot after receiving the news and found Lal Mia lying inside the house in a bloody state. He was immediately taken to the emergency department of Lakhai Upazila Health Complex where the doctor on duty declared Lal Mia dead.

After informing the Lakhai police station, SI Mridul Kumar Bhowmik along with the police reached the upazila health center at 1.30 am and prepared the body of the deceased. On Friday (January 27), the dead Lal Mia was sent to Habiganj District Sadar Hospital for autopsy.

When Lakhai Police Station OC Investigation contacted Champak Dam, he said that so far no written complaint has been received in this regard. If we receive a written complaint, action will be taken against the guilty persons subject to investigation.
