Brother and sister died after falling from the roof of a five-storey building

Children were playing on the roof of the five-story building. Among them were 9-year-old Abdur Rahim and his cousin Sonia (6). There was no railing on the roof. Suddenly two siblings fall down due to carelessness. When they were rescued and taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital, doctors declared them dead. The tragic incident took place on Friday evening in Kamrangirchar area of the capital.
Earlier on Thursday, another child named Tushar Ahmed Kayes (12) died after falling from the roof of a house in Lalbagh area of the capital. This happened while he was playing.
Kamrangirchar police station OC Mostafizur Rahman said that the police were sent to the scene and the hospital after receiving the information. It was initially reported to be an accident. Police are trying to find out the details.
According to the police and relatives of the deceased, the two children were living with their families in Ahsan Bagh Sileti Bazar area of Kamrangirchar. Among them, Rahim’s father’s name is Roman Mia and Sonia’s father’s name is Rashed Mia. Before Friday evening two children go to the roof to play. They played there for a while. At one point, they fell down and got seriously injured.
Roman Mia, the father of deceased Rahim, said that two siblings fell from the roof of the house around 7 pm. When they were rescued and taken to DMK hospital, the doctor said that they are not alive.
Inspector in charge of DMK Hospital Police Camp Bachchu Mia said that the frozen bodies of two children were brought to the hospital in bloody condition. After the doctor declared dead, the body was sent to two emergency department morgues. The actual cause of death will be known in the autopsy.
