The leaders of Chhatra Jamiat Sylhet have demanded cancellation of anti-Islamic education syllabus, eradication of corruption, price control of daily necessities and elections under a non-party-neutral government.

Speakers made this demand at the discussion meeting of the foundation anniversary of Chhatra Jamiat organized by the Sylhet metropolitan branch at the party office at Bandar Bazar in the city on Wednesday (January 25).

The speakers in the discussion meeting said that a conspiracy is going on to make the new generation of the country atheist and pagan through the controversial syllabus. Attempts are being made to discredit Muslim students by adding nudity, veils, opposition to beards, statues of Darwinian evolution and Hinduism in textbooks. 92% of Muslims do not want to see Darwin’s theory in their country’s textbooks. They want to see accurate representation of indigenous and religious culture, civilization and history. They also said that controversial anti-Islam education syllabus should be canceled immediately. According to the thoughts of 92 percent of Muslims, new education syllabus should be formulated under the supervision of scholars.

Under the chairmanship of Nagar Chhatra Jamiat president Mohammad Abul Khair and moderated by general secretary Nurul Islam, the speakers also said that Islam’s obligatory law veil has been insulted in the syllabus. By making fun of the beard, the Sunnah of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) has been shown to be extreme. Homosexuality is encouraged. We think that the hearts of 200 million Muslims in the world are bleeding due to this misdeed of the anti-Islam forces in Bangladesh.

Maulana Akhtaruzzaman Talukder, organizing secretary of Jamiat Ulamae Islam Sylhet metropolis, spoke as the chief guest in the discussion meeting. Maulana Lutfur Rahman, former president of Chhatra Jamiat Sylhet Metropolitan, Aminul Islam, General Secretary of Sylhet District Chhatra Jamiat, Maulana Baha Uddin Bahar, student leader Abdul Hai, spoke as special guests. Al Hadi, Vice President of Metropolitan Students Jamiat Zaheed Ahmad, Zakaria Ahmad, Jalalabad Police Station Student Jamiat President Abdul Halim, Shahparan Police Station Branch President Zaki Hasan etc.

After the meeting, a motorbike rally was held in Sylhet city on the occasion of the foundation anniversary. Press release.
