In Gaibandha’s Sadullapur, the lover called his lover to his house and ran away without marrying, leaving behind his lungi.
The incident took place on January 19 at around 8:30 pm in Mwagari village of Dhaperhat union of the upazila.
Masud (32), the son of Jabbar Ali, the father of two children, and the younger brother of Dadan businessman Mosta, died in Mwagari village.
The girl said that Masud (32) of the neighboring village has been in my relationship since before marriage. I am married twice and have two children. My two families broke up because of Masud. I forgot everything and started working in a garment factory in Dhaka. Last Friday, January 13, Masud called me from Dhaka to talk about marriage. I meet him. Instead of taking me to his own house on the lure of marriage, he kept moving me to the houses of various relatives. He started flirting with me without getting married. After realizing this, I went to Masud’s house around eight o’clock on Thursday (January 19). I came to Masud’s turmeric drying place and found him. At one stage of the conversation, his wife and son came. He took the phone in my hand and left his lungi and ran away. After running away, when I went to stay at his house, his wife and son blocked him. At night, when the matter became known among the locals, they informed the police. The police came and left me at the house of a female (UP) member. I have been here ever since.
Masood is ruining my life, I will marry him or commit suicide.
Masud’s elder brother admitted that the girl wanted to marry his brother and said that the girl was married in two other places, she also has two children. My brother has a wife and two children. Marriage is by no means possible. Moreover, the character of the girl is not good. My brother is doing good things now, money has been made, so they are trying to frame him.
It was not possible to take Masud’s statement as he was absconding. However, other members of his family said that there is a planned attempt to frame Masud.
In this regard, Laili Begum, a female reserve member of the Dhaperhat Union, said on the afternoon of January 20, “The girl has been given to me.” So far no one from the boy’s side has contacted me.
Confirming the matter, SI Tariqul Islam of Sadullapur’s Thapherhat Police Investigation Center said, “I went to the spot last night while on night duty at around two o’clock in the morning. As the boy was absconding and there was no lady police, the girl was rescued and placed in the custody of a reserved lady member. No one has made a written complaint to the police station or the police investigation center in this regard so far.
