Gowainghat Police Beating Tragedy, Accused Not Arrested!

Even though it has been a week since the brutal police beating in Sylhet’s Gowainghat, the police have not arrested any accused for unknown reasons. This has created a commotion in the local community.
It is known that when a team of Salutikar police outpost in Shiala Haw of Gowainghat upazila went to investigate the case at around two o’clock in the afternoon on Saturday, January 14, terrorist miscreants attacked the police. Policeman ASI Abu Salek of Salutikar Investigation Center was seriously injured. Later the locals rescued him with serious injuries and sent him to Siomek Hospital. The next day, on Sunday, January 15, ASI Abu Salek himself filed a case with gong-7/8, making Lebu Biswas, son of Sumant Biswas of Lakshi Howar (Jalurmukh) village, the main defendant and mentioning the names of 9 others. whose case no-12/2023 Eng-.
Meanwhile, even though it has been a week since the incident, the police have yet to arrest any accused due to unknown reasons. This has created anger among other honest policemen as well as local conscious circles.
After the investigation, it is known that even after beating the policeman severely, the accused are spreading rumors in the local area by publicly breaking the name of the alleged leader of the government party. The defendants are on the contrary, filing various conspiratorial and false cases against the policemen. A concerned source in the local area confirmed that all the accused are currently staying at their respective residences.
Gowainghat Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) KM Nazrul was contacted on his mobile phone to inquire about this, he told the reporter that I am not willing to comment on this matter. In response to another question, he said, wrote that the defendants are walking openly!
On the other hand, Salutikar Police Outpost Inspector (Unarmed) Md. Shafiqul Islam Khan said that the operation to arrest the accused is continuing.
