Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal said that the government is not obstructing the political program of the opposition party. He said, “Rather, if any party wants to hold a rally, the DMP commissioner is giving them permission.” We only say that the suffering of the people should not increase. Roads can’t be closed, vandalism can’t be done. Political programs will be carried out peacefully so that the people do not suffer.
He said these things in the speech of the chief guest at the founding anniversary of the 1971 Ghatak Dalal Nirmul Committee at Bangla Academy on Thursday.
Alleging that some parties, including BNP, are spreading false propaganda against the government, the Home Minister said, “They (BNP) are spreading propaganda at will, which is not true.” He is promoting him with more colors in a way that you (journalists) know very well. At this time, he also commented that the Prime Minister did not stop any political party to propagate political ideology and hold rallies.
Regarding a recent report by Human Rights Watch about APBN taking money from Rohingyas in Rohingya camps, the Home Minister said, ‘Rohingya camps will be poison for us sometime. These Rohingya left everything and moved here. They can accept any challenge, tempted by any temptation. We have always said this. These Rohingyas do Yaba business from inside the camp. They themselves are shooting, fighting, committing various misdeeds.’
The minister said, “They brutally killed one of our DGFI officers in the camp. There were also shootings on Wednesday. Houses are being burnt. The government has continued various activities to control these activities of the Rohingyas, the minister added, “The report of Human Rights Watch on APBN is not based on information. The Human Rights Watch report should have been investigated further.’
