Clash between two groups over watering the land: 25 injured

At least 25 people were injured in a clash between two parties over water supply in Hiala village of Makrampur union of Baniachong upazila. They were rescued and admitted to Habiganj Sadar Modern Hospital in serious condition.
The collision happened yesterday Thursday morning.
According to injured sources, Atabur Rahman of Hiala village and Akil Hossain of the same village took a lease to irrigate a boro paddy field. On this last Wednesday afternoon, there was a discussion about irrigating the land earlier and later in the local Battala market.
In view of this incident, when water was started on the land on Thursday morning, people from both sides clashed with indigenous weapons. Police and local people brought the situation under control.
Among them, Zahoor Ali, Nurul Haque, Pran Krishna, Kabir Miah, Yahya Miah, Jasim Uddin, Sajlu Miah, Abdul Ghafoor, Kaushar Ahmed, Mobashvir Ahmed, Abdal Miah, Atabur Rahman, Safar Ali, Altab Miah, Salim Miah, are seriously injured. Miraj Mia was admitted and treated at Habiganj Sadar Modern Hospital.
In this regard, Baniachong Police Station (OC) Ajay Chandra Dev said that the injured in the clash are being treated at the hospital. Legal action will be taken on complaints.
