It has been alleged that the prisoners are living in hardship in Habiganj District Jail. On the one hand, torture of some prison guards, on the other hand, many fell sick and were admitted to the hospital after eating poor quality food. Moreover, there is no water. Taps and motors of various wards have been broken for many days. Although prisons are said to be ‘safe, show the way’ there is no real parallel to the proverb.

Many of the prisoners who got out on bail said that they were first kept in detention as soon as they went to jail. The next day the jailers and file guards pick and choose between the prisoners and take them to different wards in exchange for money. After taking it there, you have to pay 300 taka per seat per day. Otherwise, their seats are placed far away from the bathroom. And those who pay are given good seats. Apart from this, drug case prisoners are kept in the tower if they do not pay. After paying 4-5 thousand rupees, they were taken down from the tower and given to different wards. Those who do not pay must remain in the tower until bail. Many such information has been given by the bailed prisoners.

Apart from this, many people are hospitalized after eating low-quality food. Fish, meat, pulses and vegetables are supposed to be given to the prisoners every day, but fish and meat are given twice a week. Vegetables and pulses for the rest of the day. Apart from this there is acute shortage of pure water. For a long time, the inmates of different wards have been using tube well water. However, the prisoners are not taking it into account even after repeatedly telling the authorities. Day by day their suffering is increasing. In this regard, Zeller said, I am new.
