A pedestrian named Simson Day Chowdhury (33) was killed after being hit by a private car in Sylhet.

The accident took place around 7:30 am on Sunday (January 15) in Lakkatura Bazar area of Airport Police Station. The deceased Simson Day Chowdhury is the son of Aleson Day Chowdhury of Rajabari Oriyapara in Lakkatura tea garden area.

According to the police, a private car (Chatt Metro-V-11-0111) bound for Companyganj from Ambarkhana hit a pedestrian Simson De Chowdhury (33) coming from the opposite direction in Lakkatura Bazar area of Airport Police Station at 7.30 am on Sunday, and he was seriously injured. Later, people around including the private car driver took him to Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital. While undergoing treatment there, he died at around twelve o’clock.

According to Sylhet Metropolitan Police’s media wing, the private car involved in the accident was recovered and brought to the police station. Besides, the driver is in police custody. Legal action will be taken subject to complaints in this regard.
