A complaint has been filed against SI Mizanul Haque of Habiganj’s Lakhai Police Station for beating up the visually impaired Quran Hafez. Kayes Ahmed, son of deceased Zafar Ali of Tegharia village, has filed a written complaint with the Superintendent of Police.
According to the complaint, on December 5 afternoon in the local Kanipur market, the SI attacked the blind Hafez Qais and slapped him in front of the public. He was detained without taking any legal action against him. Later, it was alleged that he was taken out of the police station in exchange for a bribe of five thousand rupees.
When Andha Kayes filed a complaint with the Superintendent of Police, Assistant Superintendent of Police Abul Khair was given the responsibility of his investigation.
According to sources, Amena lodged a general diary against Kayes and his mother and brother in Lakhai police station due to a family dispute between Andha Hafez and his wife Amena. While investigating the general diary, SI Mizan Andh Kayes Ahmed was beaten and detained in the police station.
In order to investigate the incident, on January 3, the victimized visually impaired Kayes Ahmed’s wife Mosa Amina Khatun was called to the Bahubal Circle office to testify about her GD, but Amena Khatun and her witnesses did not appear there. This means that Amena Khatun made a false GD against Andh Qays.
In this regard, Kaesh said that they are preparing to file a complaint against SI Mizanul with the higher officials of the police. However, SI Mizanul Haque claimed that these allegations are false.
