Mustafa Mohsin Montu, the president of a section of Ganaforum, said that the fight to restore the voting rights of the people under the non-partisan neutral government has started, this fight will continue until the voting rights are restored.

He said this in a program organized in front of the central office of Gano Forum yesterday as part of the simultaneous movement with BNP.

Commenting on the government’s ‘development story’ for looting, not for increasing the standard of living of the people, Montu said, ‘I thought the struggle was over after the victory in the Great War of Liberation in 1971, but I have to say with pain that today I am doing this mass-location program for democracy. Against whom? Those who took away the people’s voting rights in 2014 and 2018 and occupied the power illegally.

At that time, Montu demanded the immediate release of BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia and the leaders arrested and imprisoned in ‘false’ cases.

Gano Forum General Secretary Senior Advocate Subrata Chowdhury said that this authoritarian government has destroyed the happiness and peace of the people by stopping good governance and democracy. Every institution of the state has been destroyed and the blue plan to seize power has been arranged.

He said, ‘You have forgotten that the people of this country have never accepted a corrupt, anti-people government. You will not be accepted this time either. Even in the past, you have not obeyed, even though you are illegally surviving by usurping the power of the people. It’s a shame! Ganoforum will build a Durbar movement with the people to remove your misrule immediately.’
