On January 16, BNP rallies across the country
Dhaka/
BNP will hold protest marches and rallies in districts and upazilas across the country on January 16 to demand implementation of 10-point demand and reduction in electricity prices.
The party’s general secretary Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir made this announcement in front of the BNP’s central office in Nayapaltan on Wednesday afternoon.
He said that the government should immediately resign and dissolve the parliament. Elections should be arranged under a non-partisan neutral government.
Mirza Fakhrul said, common people are saying today – they can’t do it anymore. Can’t buy rice. Can’t buy food. Wasser MD bought 14 houses in America. How many thousands of crores of rupees has he smuggled abroad? Action is not taken against them today. They looted all the banks. The government has built a state of loot. Their aim is to control everything and re-establish one-party rule. We will not let that happen! We will free Begum Khaleda Zia. Our leader Deshanayak Tariq Rahman should be brought back to the country. Today the people have woken up. Representatives of civil society have woken up. Media is also playing a role.
He said that even after the arrest of our leaders and activists, the mass meeting in Dhaka on December 10 could not be thwarted. The people of the country including Dhaka have succeeded. Let us unite to build a livable country for the new generation with the aim of implementing the spirit of the 71st Liberation War.
