In the Bogra-4 and Bogra-6 by-elections, the nomination papers of 11 people, including Ashraful Alam alias Hero Alam, have been cancelled. Returning Officer and Deputy Commissioner Saiful Islam canceled their nominations due to discrepancies in the signatures of the informational crew and supporters.

Their nominations were canceled during the scrutiny process on Sunday afternoon.

As Hero Alam’s nomination for both seats was cancelled, Hero Alam said that there was a conspiracy against him.

In Bogra-4 (Kahalu-Nandigram) constituency whose nomination papers have been canceled are Hero Alam, Advocate Ilyas Ali, Teacher Golam Mostafa, Abdur Rashid Lalu, Nandigram former BNP leader and former mayor Kamrul Hasan Jewel and Taj Uddin.

Among them, Tajuddin was the candidate of Bangladesh Congress. All others are independent candidates. In the case of independent candidates in that constituency, there is a discrepancy in the list containing the support and signatures of one percent of the total voters. Besides, Tajuddin of Bangladesh Congress has not signed his nomination papers and his proposers and supporters do not have signatures.

Those whose nomination papers have been canceled in Bogra-6 (Sadar) seat are- Hero Alam, former Awami League leader Abdul Mannan alias Fame Mannan, motor workers leader Syed Kabir Ahmed Mithu, former BNP leaders Sarkar Badal and Rakib Hasan and Bangladesh Congress’s Munsur Rahman.

In this seat also, the nomination of 5 independent candidates was canceled due to inconsistencies in the list signed by the supporters.

District Election Officer Mahmud Hasan said that those whose nomination papers have been canceled can appeal to the Election Commission on January 9, 10 and 12. After submitting the evidence in the appeal, if the Election Commission is satisfied, there is an opportunity to withdraw the candidature.

Hero Alam said, for the same reason, when my candidature was canceled in the 11th national election, I appealed to the Election Commission and got my candidature back. I will appeal and hope to get my candidature back on both the seats.
