Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said, as long as Awami League is in power, whatever needs to be done will be done to alleviate people’s suffering. He said, ‘Awami League government is always with the people. We are committed to the socio-economic development of the people of Bengal. We will do what needs to be done. Not only the government, the leaders and workers of Awami League are always on the side of the people.
He said these things in the president’s speech at the first joint meeting of the newly formed National Council, Central Executive Committee and Advisory Council of Awami League at Tungipara Upazila Awami League office in Gopalganj on Saturday (January 7) afternoon.
The Prime Minister said that people are developing at the village level. We are providing accommodation for all. No person will be homeless in the golden Bengal of the father of the nation. Despite the global economic crisis, we have taken steps to ensure that the people of our country do not suffer. No land will remain uncultivated. That’s why I call common people. We are working towards producing everything ourselves according to our own needs.
Earlier, as a pre-arranged program, the Prime Minister along with the central leaders of the party paid homage at Bangabandhu’s tomb at 1:10 PM. Later, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated 27 development projects of Gopalganj, Kotalipara and Tungipara upazilas, including the Bangabandhu Memorial Boat Landing Ramp, Muktijoddha Complex Building on the Madhumati River, where Bangabandhu’s memory is intertwined. In the evening he will leave for Dhaka from Tungipara by road.
