Bangladesh national cricket team will start the new year with a series against England. England cricket team is coming to Bangladesh after six years. The English will play three ODIs and three T20 series. The ODI series will start in Mirpur on March 1.

The second ODI will be played at the same venue on March 3. After that, two teams will go to Chittagong. The third and last ODI of the series will be played there on March 6. The three-match T20 series will also be held in Chittagong. The first match will be played on March 9 and the next two matches on March 12 and 14 respectively.

The ODI series is part of the ODI Super League. Based on the points of the league, who will play in the World Cup held in India in 2023 will be decided. Bangladesh is in a good position in the Super League table. England has played 18 matches and collected 120 points. There are five on the table. The English are fourth there with 125 points.

Besides, organizing the three-match T20 series in Chittagong must be called a bold decision by BCB. In the last match of the ODI series, India scored 400 runs on that ground. England are the reigning T20 World Cup champions and their batting line-up is also devastating. Liton-Sakibra will play T20 against the English in Chittagong.

PCB Chief Executive Clare Connor said, ‘After 2016, England is going to Bangladesh to play white ball cricket, it is exciting news. An extraordinary atmosphere will be created in Dhaka and Chittagong for this series. Cricket passion is great in Bangladesh. Their home record is very good. We are expecting a tough challenge.
