The establishment built by Baikka Bill in Hail Haor of Moulvibazar will be closed for 9 consecutive days for renovation work. The upazila administration has closed one of the tourist spots of Baikka Bill Pakhi in Hail Haor from Monday, December 26. The tourist attraction will be closed till January 3, 2023 next year. Baikka Bill will be opened for public and tourists after completion of renovation work.
Meanwhile, on Tuesday, many tourists flocked to see the beauty of Baikka Bill. Many of them said that they came without knowing that it was closed for renovation work. A tourist named Awal from Balaganj of Sylhet said that they came with some friends to see the birds of Baikka Bill. But they are disappointed due to the closure.
Minnat Ali, executive member of the Baragangina Resource Management Committee, which is responsible for the management of the Baikka Bill, said, “Since yesterday, the entry of tourists has been banned for maintenance work in the Baikka Bill. Yesterday many tourists came without knowing. We explained and sent them back. The beautification of the bridge, car parking etc. is going on here for the tourists. Many places are being painted. If these works are completed, the beauty of this place will increase.
Srimangal Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Ali Rajib Mahmud Mithun said that the bridge, parking system, toilets will be renovated as part of the renovation work. Pictures of various animals are blocked here for the tourists. Which are almost destroyed. These are being installed anew. Tourists have been banned for 9 days for these activities. He requested the tourists to seize this time. Baikka Bill, a bird and fish sanctuary, is visited by birds throughout the year. However, guest birds are seen here in winter. Also, Baikka Bille Shapla and Padmaful also fascinate the tourists. A watch tower has been built here for tourists to watch birds. Tourists visit here almost throughout the year.
