The 58th Annual General Meeting of Bangladesh Tea Estate Staff Association was held on Sunday (December 25) afternoon at Zilla Parishad Auditorium on Bhanugach Road in the city.

Srimangal upazila executive officer Ali Rajib Mahmud Mithun was present as the chief guest in the general meeting chaired by the newly elected president of the organization Md Zakaria and general secretary Talukdar Md Aminur Rahman. Convener Labor Health and Bangladesh Tea Sangsad Tahsin Ahmed Chowdhury, member of Melvibazar Zilla Parishad reserved seat for women Helena Chowdhury, upazila women vice chairman Mitali Dutta, former president of Bangladesh Tea Estate Staff Association Mahbub Reza, BFTUP president Pulak Ranjan Dhar were present as special guests. Moulvibazar District Sramik League President Asad Hossain Makku, Akter Hossain Bhuiyan Mintu, Alamgir Chowdhury AGS etc. In the general meeting, outgoing treasurer and current general secretary of the organization Talukdar. Aminur Rahman Amin gave the income and expenditure account for the financial year 2022. In the last financial year of the organization, the organization showed a surplus of 60 lakh 38 thousand 498 taka, income of 1 crore 13 lakh 1 thousand 120 taka and expenditure of 71 lakh 5 thousand taka.
Newly elected treasurer Suranjit Das presented the budget for 2023. On this occasion, T Staff Association awarded scholarships to students. At that time, thousands of staff of 167 tea gardens in the country and other leaders of Bangladesh Tea Estate Staff Association were present.
