If there is no democracy in the country, there is no freedom of journalists, said the member of the BNP standing committee. Khandkar Mosharraf Hossain said, if full freedom of journalists can be practiced then there is democracy in that country.

He said these things at a prayer ceremony at the National Press Club on Sunday (December 25). Remembrance meeting and doa mahfil organized on the death anniversary of former president of BFUJ and National Press Club Riazuddin Ahmed.

Democracy is the basic word of the Constitution which was written in 72 which is our basic spirit. That democracy was killed and established Bakshal. Musharraf said, Awami League established Bakshal in the country. BNP founder Ziaur Rahman instead established multi-party democracy in the country.

He also said that this government has disappeared more than 600 activists to stay in power. Thousands of activists have been extrajudicially killed. Over one lakh cases have been filed to suppress our voice. About 3.7 million activists have been accused in the case.
