Several railway lines in Shaistaganj’s traditional junction area have become vulnerable. Shaistaganj-Sylhet-Dhaka-Chittagong rail communication system can be cut off at any time due to derailment. However, the railway authorities have started work on repairing the line.

Meanwhile, the passengers complained that the work on the railway line is going on at a snail’s pace. However, 12 to 15 laborers are employed to repair and stone the line in each line. But instead the authorities are working with 4/5 people. As a result it takes more time.

More than 10 trains are plying from Sylhet via Shaistaganj to different places every day. But as the lines are dangerous, one has to wait for hours at the train crossing.

Meanwhile, the Kalni train that left Dhaka on Thursday was scheduled to arrive at 6.20 but arrived at 7.30. Apart from this, the Dhaka-bound Parabat train arrived at Shaistaganj at 6.25 minutes and left for Dhaka after waiting for 30 minutes for Kalni. Many such trains take 30-40 minutes to cross. This is because of the risk line. The train has been running like this for the past few days. Many passengers suffer by waiting for hours.
