District Commissioner visited Srimangal Kalapur Maternal and Child Health Centre

Moulvibazar District Commissioner Mir Nahid Ahsan visited Red Crescent Mother and Child Health Center at Srimangal, Moulvibazar.
Deputy Commissioner Mir Nahid Ahsan visited the Haji Shamsul Haque Saleha Khatun Red Crescent Mother and Child Health Center established by British Councilor Zerin’s family at Kalapur, Srimangal on Wednesday (December 21) afternoon. British Councilor Shahania Chowdhury Zerin’s father, Chairman of UK Expatriate Aid Bangladesh Community Forum and Joint Organizing Secretary of Bangladesh Caterers Association, Labor Party Fund Raising Officer Shahidul Islam Chowdhury Liton were present.
He expressed his interest in visiting the health center after learning about the health center from Jerin’s father during a meeting with the District Commissioner. Shahidul Islam Chowdhury, the founder of the health center, welcomed the Deputy Commissioner with flowers on his arrival in the afternoon. Other members of the donor’s family and the responsible staff of the health center and the beneficiary mothers were also present. The District Commissioner talked to about 30 beneficiary mothers present and expressed satisfaction to know about free and safe health care for maternity mothers. After that, the Deputy Commissioner visited each room of the health center and inspected its activities and inquired about the details. He expressed his opinion and signed the inspection book. Md. Kauchar Iqbal, senior vice president of Srimangal Press Club, was present in addition to the dignitaries of the area.
It is known that after its establishment in 2008 with the promise of 24-hour service, about 5,000 pregnant women have been delivered safely. Apart from treating the poor and distressed patients of the area, Shahidul Islam Chowdhury and his family members are continuing to provide various services to the helpless people. These activities include distribution of sewing machines, distribution of wheel chairs, distribution of tubewells and winter clothes. Especially during the corona period, they played an extraordinary role in standing by the poor and struggling people with financial and food aid and providing immediate oxygen cylinders and other medical services to comatose patients. Last Monday, December 18, British Councilor Shahania Chowdhury visited Jerin Family Charity Medical Center and expressed her satisfaction. The spontaneous presence of the locals especially the beneficiary mothers on the occasion of Jerin’s arrival was noticeable. Jerin promised to support all the local residents present. At this time, joy spread in the hearts of the local people and everyone expressed their gratitude to Jerin.
