President and Prime Minister pay respects to martyred intellectuals

The president paid tribute to the martyred intellectuals. Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
On Wednesday (December 14) at 6:59 a.m., the President and then the Prime Minister paid tribute to the martyred intellectuals by placing wreaths at the Martyr Intellectuals Memorial in Mirpur of the capital. They stood there in silence for some time.
After that the members of the armed forces gave the national salute. A sad tune is played on the bugle. In the mild winter, in the silence of the foggy morning, the mood of mourning spread throughout the area.
At that time, advisors to the Prime Minister, members of parliament, chiefs of the three forces, high-ranking government officials, senior leaders of Awami League and the leaders and activists of the organization of the party were present. Later, Awami League President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina along with party leaders paid tribute to the martyrs.
Apart from this, the leaders and workers of Awami League affiliated organizations including Jubo League, Swachhasebak League, Mahila League, Chhatra League paid tribute to the martyred intellectuals with flowers. The intellectual memorial was then thrown open for public to pay their respects.
