Mutasim Billah, IU Correspondent: The authority of Islamic University (IU) in Kushtia observed the Martyred Intellectual Day on the campus with befitting manner on Wednesday.

IU pro-vice-chancellor Professor M Mahbubur Rahman hoisted the national flag at half-mast position while treasurer Professor Alamgir Hossain Bhuiya hoisted the black flag in front of the university’s administrative building around 10 am. Provosts of all the residential halls hoisted the national flag at half-mast position and black flags atop at their respective halls at the same time.

Later, the teachers, students, officials and staff of the university brought out a mourning procession on the campus, led by IU Pro-Vc M Mahbubur Rahman. The procession ended at memorial monument of the university.

IU authorities, teachers association (IUTA), Bangabandhu Parisad, Shapla Forum, Zia Parisad, officers association, residential halls, departments and many social and cultural organizations placed floral wreaths here and offered prayer for martyred intellectuals.
