Celebrating Martyr Intellectuals Day and Great Victory Day at the initiative of Bangabandhu Parishad
Staff Reporter: On the initiative of Bangabandhu Parishad, a discussion meeting was held today in the afternoon at the Abdus Salam Hall of the National Press Club on the topic of “Unity of the Powers of the Supporters of the Liberation War in the Protection of Independence-Sovereignty”. Lutfar Rahman, Organizing Secretary, Bangabandhu Parishad, Rehan Sobhan, Joint General Secretary, Bangabandhu Parishad, Professor Dr. Shafiul Alam Bhuiyan, Presidium member, Bangabandhu Parishad and Chairman, Department of Television Film and Photography, University of Dhaka, Martyr intellectual child engineer Rabiul Aftab, Anal Raihan, writer columnist Ajit Kumar Sarkar and Presidium member of Bangabandhu Parishad, Dr. Sheikh Abdullah Al Mamun, Joint General Secretary, Bangabandhu Parishad, Shafiqur Rahman MP and Presidium member of Bangabandhu Parishad, General Secretary of Bangabandhu Parishad Prof. ABM Farooq, Adv. Abdus Salam PP, Organizing Secretary, Bangabandhu Parishad etc.
The speakers in the discussion meeting said that in 1971, Razakar killed the intellectuals of the country with the help of Albadr forces at the dawn of independence in a futile attempt to deprive the nation of talentless leadership.
The speakers expressed their anger and said that the main goal of independence has not been fulfilled but the murderer Ziaur Rahman and dictator Ershad have tarnished the original spirit of independence.
In the president’s speech, Professor Dr. AMS Arefin Siddique said that from March 25, 1971 to December 14, 1971, the Pakistani army and its accomplices carried out genocide in this country. In return for the honor of 30 lakh martyrs and two lakh mothers and sisters, we got independent sovereign Bangladesh. Our Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman said in his address to the nation, the war of liberation is over, the war of economic development has begun. Everyone should devote themselves to the work of building the country.
At the beginning of the meeting, all the martyrs of the Liberation War and the late Dr. Bangabandhu Parishad president and president. A minute’s silence was observed to honor the memory of SA Malek and pray for the repose of his soul.
