Online Reporter/
Barrister Rumin Farhana, a member of BNP’s reserved women’s seat, claimed that people have shown Awami League a red card. He said, ‘North to South, East to West are only people and people. Today there is only one party in Bangladesh, Bangladesh Nationalist Party – BNP. BNP is the people’s party, BNP is the people’s party, BNP is your party, BNP is my party.
He said these things in a speech given at the BNP’s divisional rally at the capital’s Golapbagh ground on Saturday.
Rumin Farhana said, there is no other party in Bangladesh called Awami League. Common people showed red card to Awami League long ago.
Announcing his resignation from the National Parliament, Barrister Rumin Farhana said, “There is no point in staying in a parliament that has no votes, a parliament that steals votes.” The government’s disappearances, murders, extrajudicial killings, torture and brutal looting of the opposition; I am resigning today in protest of all this.
BNP international affairs assistant secretary Rumin said that the resignation letter was sent by email yesterday. Today is a holiday on Saturday. Tomorrow, InshAllah, I will hand in the signed resignation letter to the speaker of the National Assembly.
He said, seven of us joined the parliament on the decision of the party. National leader Begum Khaleda Zia and acting chairman of BNP Tarek Rahman and the standing committee sent me to parliament as the only reserved seat member. Then we said, we will try to use all the opportunities we get. Now it seems that there is no difference between being in this parliament and not being there.
