Moulvibazar Representative/
On this day in 1971, the brave freedom fighters fought to the death and freed the enemy by expelling the Pak invaders from Moulvibazar. The Pakistan army was scared by the news of the multi-faceted death toll of the freedom fighters and the news that the freedom fighters from India were gradually advancing towards the camp. Seeing the dire situation, on the morning of December 8, Pak forces destroyed various installations including Manubridge and fled. After this Moulvibazar city was liberated. The flag of independent Bangladesh is flown.
On Thursday (December 8) at 10:30 a.m., the flag was hoisted at Muktijoddha Complex and wreaths were placed at Bangabandhu’s portrait. Later, the victory procession went around the important roads of the city and went to the M Saifur Rahman Auditorium where a discussion meeting was held. Moulvibazar-3 Constituency Sangsad Neshar Ahmad, Deputy Commissioner Mir Nahid Ahsan, Zilla Parishad Chairman Alhaj Michbahur Rahman, Additional Superintendent of Police Hasan Mohammad Nasser Rikabder (Finance and Administration), former District Freedom Fighter Commander Jamal Uddin and others were present.
