In Manikpur of Bahubal upazila of Habiganj, more than half a hundred people including women were injured in a clash between two sides due to a previous dispute. Among them, 35 seriously injured people were rescued and admitted to Habiganj Sadar Modern Hospital. Others were given first aid locally.
The clash happened on Thursday (December 8) morning. On receiving the information, a group of police from Bahubal Model Police Station reached the spot and brought the situation under control.
It is known that Kasem Mia, son of Gafur Mia of the same village had an argument with Safiq Mia, the son of Idris Mia, on Wednesday afternoon. The locals solved the problem. Still, anger remains. As a result, people from both sides clashed with indigenous weapons. Houses were attacked and vandalized in the hour-long clash.
The injured are, Mahibur Rahman, Sajlu Mia, Safiq Mia, Saiful Mia, Duda Mia, Nazmul Islam, Mukit Mia, Ah Karim, Haris Mia, Shafiq Mia, Rabeya Begum, Samchu Mia, Amin Uddin, Nurul Mia, Ah Gani, Bilat Mia. , Gafur Mia, Nazir Mia, Lokman Mia, Ah Kashem, Ainuddin, Ah Rahim, Salek Mia, Rajab Ali, Nazrul Islam, Mortuz Ali, Emdadul Islam, Ash Salam, Ujjal Mia, Danis Mia, Amin Uddin, Sahid Mia, Masum, Ah Bashir, Nurul Amin, Ah Latif, Abdus Sobhan, Judge Mia and Ahad Mia have been admitted to Habiganj Sadar Modern Hospital.
Bahubal Model Police Station OC Rakibul Hasan said that the police went to the spot and brought the situation under control with the help of locals. At present the situation is calm. Additional police have been deployed in the area to avoid further clashes. No cases have been filed yet. Action will be taken if complaints are received.
