Srimangal’s daughter British Councilor Shahania Chowdhury Jerin paid a courtesy call to Moulvibazar District Commissioner Mir Nahid Ahsan on Tuesday afternoon. Proud father Shahidul Islam Chowdhury Liton and two sisters were with him.

The Honorable Deputy Commissioner of Moulvibazar Mir Nahid Ahsan gave them a warm welcome. Senior administrative officials of the district participated in the hour-long discussion. British Councilor Shahania Chowdhury was moved by such feelings of Deputy Commissioner Zerin. He said, even though I am a British citizen, my heart is in my own area. I always think how the people of my area will be better, especially our generations of Bangladesh can play a role with more reputation in the country and abroad. I always think about these things, show interest in working and strive. He fulfilled the call of the District Commissioner and said that he will work for the development and welfare of Moulvibazar district. It should be mentioned that Shahania Chowdhury Jerin is the daughter of Kalapur Union of Srimangal Upazila. He made history by becoming the youngest councilor elected as a Labor Party candidate from the Harrow area in the UK. She is the only woman of Srimangal who has made the people of Srimangal proud by making outstanding contributions.
