Bangladesh Tea Estate Staff Association Election Candidates Nomination Papers Submitted

Candidates for various posts have filed their nomination papers for tri-annual elections of Bangladesh Tea Estate Staff Association at Srimangal, Moulvibazar.

On Tuesday (November 22) at 4 pm in the central office of Bangladesh Tea Estate Staff Association, the convener of the election sub-committee Md. Candidates submitted nomination papers to Ataur Rahman. Member Secretary of Election Sub Committee Md. Abdul Bashir, Member Subas Singh, Md. Chalik Mia, Bipin Upadhyay were present.

Convener of the election sub-committee. Ataur Rahman said – about two and a half thousand voters will vote through 12 centers of 165 tea gardens in the country. According to the schedule publication of final voter list on November 15, distribution of nomination papers on November 17-21, last date for submission of nomination papers on November 22 and selection of nomination papers on November 24, withdrawal of nomination papers on November 25, publication of final list of valid candidates and allocation of symbols on November 27 and voting on December 18 . A total of 9 candidates will be elected at the center for 8 posts. Election sub-committee convener. Ataur Rahman said that 75 people filed nomination papers against 33 posts in the election. The 12 regions of the country are Fatikchari in Chittagong, Jaintapur in Sylhet, Juri, Kulaura, Kamalganj, Srimangal, Bahubal in Habiganj, Chunarughat and Madhavpur upazilas. Incidentally, 2,334 garden staff will elect their leaders through ballots on December 18 through 12 centers in 165 tea gardens of the country.
