A human chain and protest rally was held to protest the filing of a case against the former chairman of Gaibandha district council, Ataur Rahman Sarkar Ata, against the executive editor of daily Manabzamin newspaper, Matiur Rahman, and three journalists of Gaibandha.

On Saturday (November 19) at noon, press club Gaibandha secretary Jabed Hossain presided over this human chain and protest rally in front of Asaduzzaman school in Gaibandha city.

In the human chain and protest rally, the speakers immediately withdrew the false case in the name of four journalists and demanded exemplary punishment of the former chairman of the corrupt district council, Ataur Rahman Atar.

After the human chain, the journalists held a protest program by keeping their pens, cameras and mobile phones for one minute at traffic intersection No. 1 of the city.
