Aman paddy field of Itna Upazila of Haor region full of green. This year, the people of Haor started planting Aman paddy in relatively higher land due to early water withdrawal from Haor. The upazila has a total of 9 unions including Raitooti, ​​Badla, Chouganga, Baribari, Elongjuri, Jaysiddhi, Mriga, Dhanpur and Itna Sadar.

When our representative visited Hawre Aman paddy fields on the ground, he met with several farmers who said that they expressed hope that the crop would be as expected without Aman paddy. Apart from this, since there is no spider infestation after planting aman, the farmers of aman cultivation have become more confident that they will be able to reap a golden harvest.

According to Itna Upazila Agriculture Office sources, Aman has been planted in about 600 hectares of land this year. Itna Upazila Plant Conservation Officer Mahabub Iqbal said that if Aman’s crop is good, 2,100 MT of rice will be produced this year. Experts in the area believe that a new chapter will be created in connection with the national food demand.
