8100 small farmers are getting agricultural incentive seeds and fertilizers in Chapainawabganj Sadar

Abdullah Al Mamun, Chapainawabganj: In Chapainawabganj Sadar Upazila, free seeds and chemical fertilizers are being distributed to 8 thousand 100 small and marginal farmers for the purpose of growing wheat, maize, mustard, groundnut, winter onion, mung bean, lentil and kesari crops in rabi season under the government’s agricultural incentive program in the financial year 2022-2023.

Out of this, wheat seeds are being given to 750 farmers, 800 maize seeds, 5750 mustard seeds, 130 groundnut seeds, 50 winter onion seeds, 110 moong seeds, 110 lentil seeds, and khesari seeds to 400 farmers for every bigha of land.

20 kg of seeds, 10 kg of DAP and MOP fertilizers are being provided to each farmer for each bigha of wheat cultivation. 2 kg seeds, 20 kg of DAP and 10 kg of MOP fertilizers, 1 kg of mustard seeds, 10 kg of DAP and MOP fertilizers are being provided to each farmer for maize cultivation. Groundnut seeds 10 kg, DAP 10 kg and MOP 5 kg are being provided. Winter onion seeds are being supplied with 1 kg, 10 kg of DAP and MOP fertilizers. 5 kg of lentil seeds, 10 kg of DAP and 5 kg of MOP are being provided. 8 kg of kesari seeds and 10 kg of DAP and 5 kg of MOP fertilizers are being provided.

The distribution program was inaugurated in the conference room of Sadar Upazila Parishad on Thursday morning.

Upazila Agriculture Officer Kaniz Tasnova delivered the welcome speech under the chairmanship of Sadar Upazila Executive Officer Md. Roshan Ali. Upazila Parishad Chairman Toshikul Islam Toshi gave a speech as a special guest.

Upazila Parishad vice chairman Tosiqul Alam Babul and female vice chairman Nasrin Aktar, farmer Monirul Islam spoke among others. Sadar Upazila Additional Agriculture Officer Saleh Akram conducted the program.

The speakers recited Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s call and told the farmers that not even an inch of space should be left uncultivated.
