Locals arrested 4 Rohingyas while illegally crossing to India through Kumarshail border crossing of Baralekha in Moulvibazar.

Locals arrested 4 Rohingya refugees on Sunday (November 6) morning when they were suspiciously wandering around the Fateh Bagh tea garden in North Shahbazpur Union of Baralekha Upazila.

The arrested are, Md. Riaz Uddin (18), Md. Salman (35), Abdur Razzaq (23), Noor Kalima (16). Residents of Bandarban’s Naikxyongchari Upazila Md. Riaz (23)’ was arrested. Later they were handed over to the police. After the arrest of the Rohingyas, the locals informed the police. Later the police of Shahbazpur Police Investigation Center went there and arrested them.

SI Mohammad Masuk Miah of Shahbazpur Police Investigation Center said that local people arrested 5 people including 4 Rohingya refugees while trying to enter India illegally through Kumarshail border. They fled from various Rohingya camps in Ukhia Upazila of Cox’s Bazar and tried to enter India through the border route.
