Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has said that the government is working to bring those who conduct anti-government activities, make provocative and fabricated statements under the law.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said this in a written reply to a question by Awami League member Nur Uddin Chowdhury Nayan during the question and answer session of the Jatiya Sangsad session on Wednesday (November 2).
Sheikh Hasina said that expatriate/immigrant Bangladeshi people living in different countries of the world make important contributions to the respective countries through their talent, education and work. Apart from sending remittances to Bangladesh, they brighten the name and image of the country through their positive activities in the host country. They can also play a role in protecting the interests of Bangladesh in the host country. Sadly, apart from playing a positive role, some of the expatriate/immigrant Bangladeshis stay outside the country and indulge in negative propaganda against Bangladesh and the government. The government is working to bring the anti-government activities, provocative and completely fabricated statements under the law and face punishment/judgment. Regarding the measures taken in this regard, the Prime Minister said that plans have been made to publish informative news, articles and articles regularly in international media and online media to counter the false propaganda and project a positive image of Bangladesh, and regular efforts are ongoing in this regard. When false and misleading news/reports are published in the international media, the Public Diplomacy Division of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs sends an objective and informative protest letter to these reports which are published or disseminated in the media.
He made these comments during the question and answer session at the 20th session of the National Assembly today on Wednesday. Speaker Dr. Shirin Sharmin Chowdhury was presiding.
