The dangerous pool of Fakirbari in Bagerhat’s Morelganj has now become impassable. The public and students of the area are suffering extreme hardships at the crossing. Due to the effect of Gale Sitrang, the pool becomes more vulnerable.

The wooden pool of Fakirbari canal in Ward No. 6 of Baharbunia Union No. 11 of Upazila is in a dangerous condition for three years. Due to lack of renovation, various items of the pool are being stolen. Efforts are being made to keep bamboo running with the help and funding of local residents and local members to avoid accidents. Every day, students of North Fulhata Government Primary School and students of various educational institutions and hundreds of local residents move through this pool at risk. Children, students and elderly people are afraid to move around the pool as there are no barriers for safety on both sides of the pool.

Among the local victims, Rakib Khan said that the dangerous pool has become more dangerous due to the impact of last cyclone Sitrang. A major accident can happen at any moment. It is important to rebuild the pool as soon as possible. UP Chairman Talukdar Ripon said that the concerned authorities have been informed about the damage caused by Cyclone Sitrang. Moreover, the construction of this dangerous pool is very important.
