The mobile court seized 469 sacks of fertilizer due to illegal stockpiling of fertilizer in Lalmonirhat. The seized fertilizer has been sent to Lalmonirhat Sadar Police Station.

A mobile court seized 469 sacks of fertilizer while smuggling fertilizer from M/s Alamin Fertilizer in Pora Batertal area of ​​Mahendranagar Union of Lalmonirhat Sadar Upazila on Saturday (October 29).
Executive Magistrate of Mobile Court Abdullah Al Noman Sarkar Assistant Commissioner (Lands) confirmed the matter and said that 252 sacks of DAP, 166 sacks of TSP and 51 sacks of urea were seized from M/s Alamin Fertilizer for illegal stockpiling of fertilizers. The value of the seized fertilizers is Tk 3 lakh 72 thousand Ariful Islam Babu is the owner of M/s Alamin Fertilizer.

Although the government subsidized fertilizer is supposed to get fertilizer from the dealer at a certain price, due to some unscrupulous traders, farmers are not getting fertilizer at a fair price, DAP is supposed to be sold at Tk 700 and TSP at Tk 1,000 per bag, but the farmer does not get fertilizer when he goes to the dealer. They are selling outside at a profit, as a result farmers are being forced to buy DAP at 1000 thousand taka and TSP at 1400 taka from outside.

Farmers believe that if there is no proper monitoring against illegal hoarders, the production of agricultural products will be disrupted, thereby threatening the government’s food security.
