British Councilor Puspita Gupta has been felicitated and scholarship awarded to students under the initiative of Pushpita Gupta Samvardhana Parishad. On Friday evening, the President of Secular Bangladesh Movement UK and British Councilor Pushpita Gupta was given a reception at Srimangalastha Mohsin Auditorium.

Under the initiative of Secular Bangladesh Movement UK, scholarships were given to 11 students from the backward community of tea workers in Srimangal. Bangladesh Mahila Parishad Srimangal branch president Prabhasini Sinha presided over the function and upazila chairman Bhanu Lal Roy was present as the chief guest. Upazila Women Vice Chairman Mithali Dutta, Pritam Bandhu Brahmachari, Principal of Sri Sri Prabhu Jagdwabandhusunder Dham, Sylhet, Ajay Kumar Dev, Vice President of Bangladesh Puja Udjakar Parishad Moulvibazar District Branch were present as special guests. East London’s Red Breeze Councilor Pushpita Gupta, daughter of Moulvibazar, was present on the stage.

Munmun Biswas served as the convenor of the valedictory ceremony and reception of veteran freedom fighter Comrade Pannalal Som Trust Scholarship by Secular Bangladesh Movement UK. The event is further enlivened by interesting cultural programs.
