In Daudkandi upazila, two persons were killed in a stampede while stealing cows from cows. Another person was injured in this incident. The incident took place in Pipiyakandi village of South Mohammadpur around 2 pm last Friday.

The deceased are Abu Mucha (32) of Dakshin Mohammadpur village and Jewel Mia (32) of Maddia village of Barguna’s Patharghata police station. Munsur (36) of Khotkhali village of Mathbaria upazila was injured in this incident.

Daudkandi Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Muhammad Alamgir Bhuya said that a group of thieves tried to steal cows from Alauddin Mia’s cattle shed in Pipiyakandi village on Friday night. Realizing the matter, the locals chased. Locals arrested three thieves and beat them up.

Abu Mucha died in Gouripur Upazila Health Complex Hospital and Jewel Mia died in Comilla Medical College Hospital. Their bodies were recovered and sent to the morgue. A case is being prepared in Daudkandi police station in this regard.
