As part of the central program of the BNP, a departmental mass meeting will be held tomorrow Saturday (October 29) in Rangpur. About 30 thousand activists from Gaibandha district will join the Rangpur Collectorate Eidgah ground to make this rally a success.
Palashbari Upazila BNP President Md A. Samad Mondal commented that the government has stopped the car, but could not stop the legs.
30 thousand leaders confirmed this information on Friday (October 28) afternoon, Gaibandha District BNP President Professor Dr. Moinul Hasan Sadiq. He said that he will be present with those leaders and workers at the rally place by 10 am on Saturday.
According to party sources, BNP has organized mass gatherings to protest against Khaleda Zia’s unconditional release, election-time caretaker government, increase in the prices of daily necessities including fuel, oil, rice and pulses, killing of policemen and terrorists, attacks and false cases.
Leaders of Gaibandha District-Upzilla BNP are actively performing their duties to make this mass meeting of Rangpur a success. Propaganda and leaflets are being distributed for quite some time to join the rally. As a result, grassroots leaders and activists of BNP and Anga Sayogi organizations are ready to participate in the mass meeting.
Meanwhile, the party is claiming that a transport strike has been called in Rangpur based on that rally. However, the leaders and activists of the district and upazila levels will attend the rally even if on foot.
On the other hand, Rangpur District Motor Owners Association President AKM Mozammel said that the strike has been called for 36 hours with other demands including banning of three-wheelers from the highway.
Samchuzzaman Samu, convenor of Rangpur Mahanagar BNP, said that common people are in favor of BNP. No kind of strike can stop the rally. Crowd has started in Rangpur. Party leaders and activists have already started coming to the rally.
