Rafiqul Bepari dreams of going to Italy to be a little better and happy in life. The tea seller father Habib Bepari and his mother went to Italy illegally through a broker by taking a loan to give him a little comfort and freedom from poverty. However, on the way, Rafiqul Bepari (22) died in an Italian hospital after being brutally tortured by mafia brokers in Libya.

On Wednesday (October 27) morning, we went to the house of the deceased in Srinadi village of Shirkhara Union of Sadar Upazila of Madaripur, and found that the family was mourning. They cannot accept this death at all. They are now waiting for the body. They want to see their son for the last time. The family’s request to the government is to bring the body to Bangladesh and bury it at home.

According to the search, Rafiqul Bepari is the only son of tea seller Habib Bepari of Srinadi village of Shirkhara Union of Sadar Upazila of Madaripur. Three days after he arrived in Italy after being tortured by Libyan mafia agents, on Tuesday (October 25) at 11:00 Bangladesh time, his family received news on the phone from Italy that Rafiqul died while undergoing treatment. After receiving the news, the family has been mourning for the last three days. Father, mother and sisters are speechless after losing their only son.

Habib Bepari, the father of the deceased Rafiqul Bepari, said that he sent his son to Italy last February through broker Alamgir Khan of Hossainerhat village of Dhurail Union of Madaripur Sadar Upazila. At this time, I gave the broker Alamgir 9 and a half lakhs in cash by keeping the loan, interest and housing house as mortgage. Later, when he was handed over to the Libyan mafia, another ten million taka was given. Still did not send my son from Libya to Italy. Later I made the game with 10 lakh taka through another broker Quddus (send to Italy). Alamgir Dalal’s men physically abused my son in Libya. This made Rafiqul sick. Arrived in Italy ill. Later, Rafiqul died while undergoing treatment in an Italian hospital. I want justice for this torture. I want the execution of the broker. And the demand to the government, to bring the body of my son to the country. Then I can see my son for the last time and I can bury him in my own country.
