Human chain protesting death of patient in ambulance and beating of relatives

A human chain was observed in front of the emergency department of the Moulvibazar 250-bed general hospital to protest the death of a patient and the beating of family members due to the fraud of a private ambulance driver. He demanded the quick arrest of the syndicate gang involved in the attack on the human chain, including the ambulance driver.
On Thursday (October 27) at noon, conscious local residents and bereaved families observed a human chain in Chaumuhana area of Moulvibazar city. The speakers complained that Kamal Uddin Ahmad of Kalenga area of Kamalganj felt ill and was brought to the hospital for immediate treatment on October 25 at 11 am. After the examination, the doctor on duty advised to take Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital with oxygen for better treatment. Kamal Uddin Ahmed died inside the car due to lack of oxygen in the ambulance. When they protested, the ambulance driver Chadiq Mia and Khaled Mia, along with 10-12 other victims’ son, Sajib Ahmad Shipu and his brother were beaten badly. At one point they threw trumpets on the head. Later, the locals recovered the father’s body from the side and treated him at the hospital.
Former Director of Bangladesh National Rural Development Cooperative Federation and BRDB Kulaura Upazila Chairman Fazlul Haque Fazlu spoke in the human chain for 2 hours – on behalf of the victim’s family, Sajib Ahmed Shipu, Chairman No. 7 Chandnighat Union Parishad Akhtar Uddin, writer Muhidur Rahman, C,P,A , M, acting president of Moulvibazar Sohail Ahmad, former co-editor of Awami Jubo League district branch Sadman Sakib Chowdhury, former sub-office editor Tushar Ahmad and others.
Moulvibazar Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge Md. Yachinul Haque said that the victim’s son Sajib Ahmed Shipu has filed a case by mentioning the names of 3 people. The operation to arrest the accused is continuing.
