A traveling court fined a young man named Nahidul Mia (18) for sexually harassing a schoolgirl in Baniachang, Habiganj. Baniachong Upazila Executive Officer and Executive Magistrate Padmasan Singh gave the sentence.

It is known from the court and local sources that Nahidul, son of Ah Jaher Mia of Trikar Mohalla of the upazila, was arrested yesterday afternoon (25th October) on charges of teasing and giving bad suggestions to a fifth grade girl in Jatrapasha Government Primary School premises. Later, when the matter was reported to the Upazila Nirbahi Officer, he immediately arrived at the scene and set up a mobile court and fined Nahidul 6,000 taka. In this incident, another youth was ruled and released.

In this regard, the executive magistrate of the mobile court and the upazila executive officer confirmed the truth of the incident and said that after receiving the complaint, Nahidul, who was accused of the crime of utezing, was fined 6 thousand taka according to section 509 of the Penal Code 1860.
He urged everyone to come forward to create awareness against social problems like eviction and said that the campaign against eviction will continue.
