Fear of crop damage in Moulvibazar due to Cyclone Sitrang

Cyclone Sitrang is raining all over the country. It has been drizzling in Moulvibazar district since 12 pm yesterday. There has been a standstill in public life due to the continuous rain since night. Various roads of the city were very empty since morning. No one left the house without necessity. The hardworking people have suffered greatly due to the effect of rain. Rickshaw, van, tomtom drivers in the city also did not come out much due to rain. Those who have gone out due to stomach problems are also not getting passengers. Passenger buses and CNG drivers plying in different upazilas of Moulvibazar are suffering from lack of passengers due to the rains.
Satyendra Chandra Vaidya, sub-divisional engineer of hydrology department of Water Development Board, said that an average of 10 milliliters of rain has been recorded in Sylhet division since morning. District Relief and Disaster Management Officer Mohammad Chandu Miah said that although rain has started under the influence of Cyclone Sitrang, there is no chance of any damage in Moulvibazar.
Moulvibazar Agriculture Extension Directorate Deputy Director Shamsuddin Ahmed said, due to the impact of the cyclone, there is a risk of damage to the Aman crop. Especially if there is excess wind, the paddy may be bent and yield deficit.
