Voluntary blood donors’ organization-bond “One’s blood is another’s life, blood is the soul’s bond” on October 24, 1997 Dr. Dhaka University. Muhammad started the procession from Shahidullah Hall. “One’s blood is another’s life, blood is the binding of the soul” that embodies the slogan that all the students are working tirelessly to build a fair society by turning voluntary blood donation into a social movement. In an effort to nurture the dream of a dying and dying traveler to live, bandhan activists come forward as a symbol of fearless youth, realizing “man for man, life for life.” Bandhan is a non-political, non-sectarian and voluntary social organization.

Currently, 76 educational institutions in 53 districts of the country are conducting activities. Since the beginning of the program, they have been doing voluntary blood donation, free blood group testing and encouraging voluntary blood donation. So far Bandhan has conducted free blood group tests of around 21 lakh people and provided around 10 lakh bags of pure blood.

Blood is an important component of the human body. When there is full blood, the human body is alive and active. And when anemia or anemia occurs, the body becomes useless and weak and the vitality declines. And this essential thing is not made in factories. Despite the best efforts of scientists, it has not yet been possible to create a substitute for blood, and it is unlikely that it will be available in the near future. People have to donate blood for the need of human blood, blood donation is very important to save life. Everyone’s blood is red regardless of caste, religion and caste. There is no difference between them. Human body needs blood so much that no one can live without blood. An emergency blood transfusion is often required to save a comatose patient. For example, blood transfusion is required due to excessive bleeding, hemoptysis or blood in stool, accident injured patients, surgical patients, childbirth, cancer or other complex diseases, anemia, thalassemia, hemophilia, dengue hemorrhagic fever etc. Also organ transplants are now taking place, which require a lot of blood to be successful. Any healthy person aged 18 to 60 years with body weight above 45 kg can donate blood regularly every four months. A healthy human body has five to six liters of blood. Of these, 250 to 450 milliliters of blood is usually donated, which is 1/10 of the total blood in the body. By donating blood, the bone marrow within our body is stimulated to produce new cells. Within two weeks of donation, new blood cells are produced to compensate for this deficiency. And naturally, since the red cells of our body change every 4 months, giving blood 3 times a year does not harm the body, but the life activity of the red blood cells of the body increases. One bag of blood can save not just one but in some cases three lives. Because one bag of blood can be divided into three parts and circulated in the body of three people. The ingredients are- Red Blood Cell, Platelet & Plasma or Cryoprecipitate. Each one requires one element. So one bag of your blood can simultaneously save three lives. Saving a life by donating a small amount of blood is undoubtedly a noble act. Regular blood donation is a good practice. Donating blood is not an adventurous or impossible task, rather having a beautiful mind is enough for it. Donating blood does not cause any harm to the body but regular blood donation also provides many benefits. For example-

– Imagine that three people’s lives are being saved simultaneously with your one bag of blood. The human satisfaction you feel at that moment can never be compared to anything else.

– When a blood donor donates blood, he can know whether he is suffering from any infectious disease or not.

– By donating blood regularly, the blood donor’s heart is good, the body’s immune system also increases.

-Regular blood donation reduces blood cholesterol levels. As a result, the blood donor’s risk of heart attack, stroke, high blood pressure is reduced.

-Regular blood donation reduces blood cholesterol levels. As a result, the blood donor’s risk of heart attack, stroke, high blood pressure etc. is reduced.

– People’s sense of compassion towards people increases through blood donation.

Bone marrow is the body’s factory for making blood cells. Regular blood donation stimulates the bone marrow to produce new cells. As a result, the bone marrow is active. Even if there is a sudden loss of blood due to any accident or any other reason, the body can easily replenish it.

– Voluntary blood donors are given a donor card. With that card, the blood donor himself and his family can get blood from that organization for life if needed.

-Blood donation is highly religious

Bandhan, which started operations in 1997, is completing a glorious 25 years in 2022. To commemorate this 25-year journey of Bandhan, Rajat Jayanthi has taken up various social and humanitarian activities in addition to regular programmes. Notable among these are: Nationwide tree plantation program, provision of medical services through free medical camps for poor people, free blood group testing in 64 districts etc.

Donating blood is also our moral and social responsibility. It is a completely humanitarian and non-communal activity. It thereby increases the sense of social responsibility, and even helps in increasing religious harmony. So let’s all become blood warriors and encourage voluntary blood donation.
