University students and intern doctors of the hospital held counter protest programs centered on the death of Shahriar, a student of Rajshahi University.

University students took out a protest march from the campus around 11 o’clock on Sunday. Later, they protested by standing in front of the main gate of the university with a human chain and blocking the highway with nine-point demands, including the arrest of those involved in medical negligence and attacks on students.

At the same time, intern doctors also protested in front of the emergency department of the hospital. At that time, they said that the agitation will continue until the work environment in the hospital is confirmed, including the arrest of the university students involved in the vandalism of the hospital and the beating of intern doctors.

Meanwhile, three days after the incident of clash between the two sides in the hospital, two separate complaints of the hospital and university authorities have been recorded as statements by the police. Two cases were registered at Rajpara police station on Saturday night.

On the other hand, the patients suffered due to the three-day strike of intern doctors from Saturday afternoon. The director of the hospital, Brigadier General Shamim Yazdani, accused the negligence of the police during the incident, stating that efforts are being made to return them to the hospital.

Shahriar, a student of marketing department, fell from the balcony of the third floor of the hall last Wednesday around eight o’clock. Later, when he was taken to the hospital, the doctors declared him dead. After this, Rabi students vandalized the hospital, alleging negligence in treatment. At one stage, intern doctors and Rabi students clashed.
