Two Bangladeshis were shot dead by Indian Border Security Force (BSF) personnel at Lalmonirhat border.

The incident took place on the Gendukuri border of Tongbhanga union of Hatibandha upazila of the district on Thursday (October 21) evening. The two injured Bangladeshis are Sujan Mia and Abdul Majeed.

People on the border informed that Bangladeshi and Indian smugglers tried to smuggle through sub-pillar No. 1 of border pillar No. 988 on that border. At that time the Indian Border Guard Force (BSF) fired at them. Two Bangladeshis named Sujan Mia and Abdul Majid of Parshwati village were shot dead.

Later his companions rescued them and took them to Rangpur. According to a source, due to legal complications, they took treatment secretly in a private hospital in Rangpur.

In this regard, Border Guard Bangladesh BGB Teesta Battalion-2 (61 BGB) commander Lieutenant Colonel Mir Hasan Shahriar Mahmud said, he is not aware of the matter. Take necessary action after inquiry.
