An allegation has been found against the officer responsible for defeating the candidate in Ward No. 3 Nabiganj in Habiganj Zilla Parishad election.

On Wednesday yesterday, the rival candidate Md. Abdul Muhith filed a written complaint with the District Commissioner. He contested the Zilla Parishad election as a member with an autorickshaw symbol. Senior Upazila Fisheries Officer and Presiding Officer Md. Asad Ullah showed him the winner with 106 votes on the result sheet after the voting was over. Later it was cut again and the votes received by him were shown 02. And his rival candidate Sheikh Mohammad Shafiquzzaman of Tubewell Pratik was shown as the winner with 106 votes.
In this situation, the presiding officer Md. Asad Ullah asked the candidate Md. Abdul Muhith to sign the result sheet, but he did not sign it. He further alleged that he was defeated through fraud. Apart from this, his agent Md Salim Mia has not signed the result sheet. Discussions are raging everywhere about this.
