World Food Day 2022 was celebrated in Srimangal Upazila of Moulvibazar.

On Sunday at 11:30 am, a discussion meeting was organized on the occasion of World Food Day in the Upazila Parishad Hall organized by Upazila Administration and Upazila Agriculture Office. The theme of the day was “Leaving No One Behind”. Better production leads to better nutrition, safer environment and better lives’. Upazila Parishad Chairman Bhanulal Roy was present as the chief guest in the discussion meeting.

Under the chairmanship of Upazila Executive Officer Ali Rajib Mahmud Mithun, Upazila Parishad Vice Chairman Haji Liton Ahmad, Women Vice Chairman Mitali Dutta were present as special guests.

Rathen Upazila Agriculture Officer Nilufar Yasmin Monalisa Sweety highlighted the importance of Food Day in the program conducted by Deputy Assistant Plant Protection Officer of Upazila Agriculture Office Rakendra Sharma. The speakers said that Bangladesh now ranks first in the world in hilsa fish production, third in inland open water fish production and rice production and vegetable production, fourth in tea production, seventh in mango and potato production, and eighth in guava production.
