A team of Kotwali police station arrested the victim’s husband Mehedi and the house owner Mahanayak Swapan of Lashgum from Gazipur and nearby areas on Monday and sent them to the court after admitting the responsibility of the murder.

Deceased Tashlima (32) is the daughter of Abdur Rashid of Vasati village in Nandail. In this regard, the officer in-charge of Kotwali Model Police Station said that on October 14 (Friday) in the morning, after getting information from the locals, the body of an unidentified woman was recovered from the Badekalpa area of ​​Akua-Rahmatpur Bypass Road and the identity of the deceased was identified with the help of information technology.

Regarding the incident, OC Shah Kamal Akand also said that the deceased Tashlima was married for the third time with Mehdi of Phulpur. After marriage, the husband was living in Chittagong with Mehdi. Later, on Tuesday, October 11, husband and wife moved from Chittagong to Swapan’s house in Board Bazar area of ​​Gazipur. The next day, on Wednesday night, husband Mehdi killed his wife Tashlima in that house and ran away. With the help of information technology, the mystery of the murder was revealed as soon as possible and those involved in the murder were arrested from Gazipur area on Monday night.

According to the information given by the police, after the murder, Swami Mehdi left the body and ran away. On Thursday morning, Swapan, the owner of the house, went to the house to collect the national identity cards of the new tenant Tashlima and her husband Mehdi. Swapan started planning to disappear the body without telling anything to the police or anyone. After keeping the house closed for the whole day on Thursday, Swapan and his accomplices left the body of the woman in a sack in Badekalla area of ​​Akua-Rahmatpur Bypass in a secluded place with the body in Swapan’s own private car.
