A.League’s rebel candidate Mukut was elected Zilla Parishad Chairman in Sunamganj

Nurul Huda Mukut, the rebel candidate of Awami League and the senior vice-president of district Awami League, won as the chairman candidate in the Sunamganj district council election. He got 612 votes in 12 upazilas including the district headquarters on the motorcycle symbol. His nearest rival candidate, Awami League’s party nominated chairman candidate district Awami League Vice President Khairul Kabir Rumen (horse) got 604 votes.
On Monday (October 17) from 9 am to 2 pm, polling was held peacefully in 12 upazilas in Sunamganj Zilla Parishad elections.
There were 1229 voters in 24 booths in 12 centers in 12 upazilas of the district. 2 candidates contested for the post of chairman, 33 for the post of general member and 33 for the post of reserved member.
District Returning Officer and District Commissioner. Jahangir Hossain said that polling was held peacefully in the entire district. Polling was completed without any untoward incident in any center
