Awami League thief’s party: Mirza Fakhrul

BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said, ‘Theft, corruption, robbery are the core of Awami League. They are a band of thieves.’
He said this while addressing the chief guest at BNP’s divisional meeting at the Polytechnic ground of Mymensingh city on Saturday afternoon.
Secretary General of BNP said, ‘Two things are in the body chemistry of Awami League. They cannot get out of there. One is theft, the other is terrorism. You will see, they will bring sticks and scare them.
He said, ‘Awami League is a group of thieves, not my word. The words of their leader Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. In 1974, when there was a famine due to the misrule of the Awami League, he said during that famine – I am a group of thieves. The blankets came from abroad, where did my blankets go? This is Awami League.
Fakhrul said that Ziaur Rahman established democracy in Bangladesh. He gave potential to a bottomless basket. He sent people abroad. The country runs on their remittance money.
At that time, he said, a fair election is never possible under the Awami League government. So this government should resign immediately and hold fair elections.
He also said that we want to make it clear that any election will never be fair if there is a party government. It has been proven.
Khaleda Zia’s unconditional release, caretaker government during the election, increase in the price of essential commodities including fuel, oil, rice and pulses, killing by police and terrorists, attacks and false cases, BNP is holding this departmental mass rally on Saturday.
The chief guest of the rally was Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, general secretary of the party. Standing Committee members Mirza Abbas, Nazrul Islam Khan, Iqbal Hasan Mahmud Tuku, Advisor to BNP Chairperson Moshiur Rahman are scheduled to speak. Professor AKM Shafiqul Islam, convenor of Metropolitan BNP, is presiding over the rally. Leaders and activists of Mymensingh, Netrakona, Jamalpur, Sherpur and Kishoreganj districts are participating to make the pre-arranged rally a success.
Tension started in Mymensingh city for the last few days around the rally. On Friday, Awami League held a protest rally at Railway Krishna Chura Square in the city and a protest march in the city. District Awami League and metropolitan Awami League have announced to stay in the field even today. On Friday evening, an attack was attempted on the residence of Abu Wahab Akand, the joint convenor of Nagar BNP. On that day, at noon, the Jubo League-Chatra League leaders paraded around the party office in New Bazar area on motorcycles. In the evening, at least 4 people were injured in a chase between Awami League and BNP activists in the town hall area.
